Wells Traditional
Shotokan Karate
We are a group of Traditional Shotokan Karate Practitioners based in Wells, Somerset.
The class has been running since the 1970's making it by far the oldest martial art class in the area. Paul and Chris Mitchell took over running the group in the mid 90's.
We are affiliated to the Traditional Shotokan Karate Association and teach all aspects of the style.
As a traditional group Wells places great emphasis on correct technique, realistic self defence and realistic interpretation (Bunkai) of all 27 forms (Kata) of the Shotokan system. We also have a thriving junior section emphasising discipline, control and fun.
